Nina

Privacy policy

Effective October 20, 2026

Nina identifies the furniture, lighting, rugs, fabrics and art in room photos and shows where to buy them. It is an invite-only beta run by Edward Hill. This page explains what Nina collects, why, and who else handles it.

What Nina collects

Your Google account
When you sign in with Google, Nina receives your name, email address and Google account ID through Supabase, our sign-in provider. Nina uses them only to sign you in and check that your email is on the invite list.
Photos and notes you scan
Screenshots, photos and notes you submit are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to identify the pieces in them. Nina's server passes them through and does not store them. Anthropic processes them under its commercial terms.
Product searches
To find listings, short text descriptions of each piece (not your photos) are sent to SerpApi, which searches Google Shopping and store pages.
Your account: votes, list and scan history
When you're signed in, your thumbs up and down votes, your shopping list and your scan history (each scan's results plus small copies of its photos) are saved to your account in Supabase, so they follow you across devices. Other users can't see them. Nina's operator can, and uses your votes to improve Nina's matching.
Things kept in your browser
When you're not signed in, the same things, plus your access code, are saved only in your own browser's storage, where Nina's server can't see them. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Server logs
For each scan, Nina's host (Vercel) logs the time, the AI model used, how much it processed and, if you signed in, your email. These logs are used to track costs and stop abuse, and are kept only as long as Vercel retains logs.

What Nina does not do

Google user data

Nina asks Google only for your basic profile and email address. Nina's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Your choices

You can delete any scan or vote from the page, sign out at any time, and clear your browser's site data to remove everything stored on your device. Deleting your account removes everything saved to it. To delete your account or ask what Nina holds about you, email hubcapgroup@gmail.com.
